Tell me what you fear and I will tell you what has happened to you.

Donald Woods Winnicott

Mastering trauma-informed therapy was a turning point in my career. These approaches help my clients do more than just understand. It helps reshape the patterns causing their current problems.

This change happens because of the human nervous system´s natural qualities. It has a capacity to process information. Like our digestive system processes food. However, overwhelming experiences can disrupt this process. This is what causes trauma.

Luckily, there are tools that let us access these raw experiences. They jump-start the ‘digestion’. In my practice, I integrate a blend of diverse approaches. I adapt them to suit each client’s unique needs and pace.

Our journey begins like traditional therapy. In the first few sessions, we get to know each other. We assess compatibility and understand your life and goals. Then, we set potential treatment plans.

I introduce exercises and practices from the start. They are designed to help clients calm their nervous system each day. When we both feel like we´re on track, we address past experiences. They are almost always the root of present struggles. We work to integrate them in the best way.

Typically, we start with the past, because it is where the behavioural patterns, beliefs, and emotions begin to form. If needed, we then address present issues. We also get ready for future challenges.
